Jan 12, 2025 sermon and questions

Jan 12 2025 sermon here

Here are some questions for this week.

1– We fail in our efforts to live for Jesus when we forget who we are in Christ, and try to live for Hi. on our own. What does 1 Cor 6:14 and Romans 6:4 tell us about the new us?
2– What is something you do everyday that is a result of the desires of your heart? Is it a result of a heart that is set on the things above?
3 — How would having a heart that is set on the things above change what you do everyday?
THOUGHT for leaders as example — May be motivated by our desire for our children to be successful in life. How would that change if our hearts were set on the things above? Would we be teaching them more about being a follower of Jesus than being popular?
4 — How does what we come into contact with everyday affect the desires of our hearts? What does Paul say about this in 2 Corinthians 4:18? What can we do about it?
5 — What is something you find yourself thinking about each day? Is it something “from above” or “something from below”? What does Paul say about this in Phil 3:19?
6– As followers of Jesus, what does Hebrews 11:13 and 1 Peter 2:11 tell us about our time on earth? How does understanding that cause a shift in our mindset?
7 — We closed with Galatians 2:20. Read that VS slowly at least three times. Can we say the same thing?
